Recently, we had to get a new roof on our house.
- I felt pretty bad for the roofers that were working because they were working in blazing hot conditions.
It was absolutely scorching outside and I couldn’t believe they had to deal with such brutal conditions. I told the roofers that if they needed, we had the air conditioning working inside and they could come in for breaks whenever they needed. We had ice-cold water in the freezer for them as well. They really appreciated it when we handed them ice-cold water and let them come inside and enjoy the air conditioning for breaks. They said that not everybody would do that for them, so this was a nice change for them. I was just thankful they were doing this work for us and at a reasonable price. It was something we really needed to get done and unfortunately on such a blazing hot day. The work took the majority of the day to be completed, but these guys did a really excellent job. They probably even were able to work harder because they were able to get breaks in our house with the cooling A/C flowing. I couldn’t imagine working as a roofer. Even though they make pretty good money doing that type of work, it’s really dangerous at the same time. Not only do you have to deal with the harsh weather conditions, but you could fall off the room if you are not careful. Also you have to work with cleaning up all the nails and debris from tearing off the old roof! It seems to be very challenging work.
