Birds smell

When you wake up in the morning what are the first things that you notice? Probably the sun streaming in through your windows, the feeling of your warm blanket against your skin, and possibly the sound of birds chirping outside happy to start their day.

  • everyone seems to describe basically the same things, in my opinion.

Those bird calls always are a big crowd-pleaser. People seem to really love the idea of these small flighted animal. However, I’m wondering how many people really enjoy birds if they spent more time with them. I say this because in general there an animal that we only admire from a distance. It’s pretty rare that you interact with a bird closely, but if you did you might realize how dirty and stinky they are. I only know this because I have a crazy old and who we call the bird lady. If you’ve ever been to her house you know what air can smell like in the presence of birds. I’m not sure what kind of old HVAC system this batty woman is running, but it’s definitely not capable to handle all of the dander and feathers that her birds produce. From the moment you walk inside there are little wispy feathers and bits of birdseed floating through the air. When the HVAC system kicks into gear this airborne dirt and debris goes flying around the room riding the airflow from every air vent. The smell of bird pee and poop is thick and burns your eyes are in days as you try to rub the feathers and dander out of them. I’ve been asking her about having her air ducts cleaned or getting a full HVAC upgrade for a while now, but so far my aunt hasn’t wanted to spend the money on calling out a professional Heating and Cooling technician. Maybe if I can convince her it’s for the good of the birds, she’ll get a new AC system.
