Getting the fireplace ready for the snow

Getting the fireplace ready for the snow

I care about the Wintertide time more than any other period of the year.

  • Summer is nice and well, and I love the cool winds of Autumn.

Spring is also a delightful time, just to see the flowers bloom and love the morning showers… However, nothing compares to the aesthetic appeal that comes from the Wintertide season! See, years ago, I decided to buy a new home that was equipped with this immense fireplace, then i knew that using the fireplace would cause the air quality in our new home to suffer, as it was likely that the fireplace would cause soot and smoke to pass into the house. Sure enough, the first time I used the fireplace for warmth, the new home hastily warm! I had to find a heating and a/c specialist that catered to fireplace upgrade and repair, just so they could address the cause of the backflow of smoke and get the fireplace back in working order… To our surprise, the specialist was able to drop by the new home as early as the following morning! Even more surprising is that the Heating as well as A/C specialist was able to get the chimney for the fireplace cleared out, however after doing that, he took care of and verified that there wasn’t expansive buildups of creosote throughout the chimney, and when I had the all-clear, I was able to light our first honest fire of the Wintertide season. It was a delightful and warming fire, which was better than any heat that could be provided by a gas furnace or boiler. I was so thankful for our fireplace to be both appealing and functional!
