I spend a lot of currency on air filters in the course of a year, one of the reasons for this, is because I don’t have a regular central heating & cooling system.
- I only have a central air conditioner & a heating system in the basement.
That means 2 strange kinds of air filters. The fact that I buy only the best in air filters, mostly HEPA air filters, means that I spend quite a bit. I had recently heard about washable air filters, so I wanted to try them. From what I read, having a bunch of washable air filters can chop when you spend in half, being able to recover them a few times before having to throw them in the trash. I am not sure what happened, however I decided to try these washable air filters, & they were horrible! Maybe it was the brand I selected, I don’t know…but these things were not only impossible to wash, however when I started using these washable air filters, our dust sensitivities started going off the charts! It was almost like the washable air filters were causing extra dirt & dust allergens to flow through the air duct & out the air vents, right into our home! After about a week of this, I decided to return the unused washable air filters to the store in which I bought them from. I demanded a full refund. I absolutely got the refund after arguing with the store. I may see if HEPA has washable air filters & try them someday. But for now, I am going back to our correct un-washable HEPA air filters!
