I have a serious nose on me.
No, I don’t mean it’s huge or something like that.
My nose is just really sensitive to odor. It is not something that I am particularly happy to have in my life. Actually, it results in getting grossed out far more than most people I think. But, that’s the way I was built and there isn’t a lot I can do about it now. So, I generally just try not to be in a position that bad smelling stuff affects me. However, while it isn’t disgusting, I certainly don’t like the smell in my home. The air just smells nasty. I tried one of those portable air filters. It helped a bit but I found it wasn’t enough and I didn’t like having to clean the filter all the time. My husband says he can tell no difference. He’s more concerned with keeping the house really tight so the HVAC treated air is not leaking out. The things he has done to ensure this have led to great utility bill savings. However, I still hate the dank smell of recycled air. Unfortunately, most of the year I can’t open a window because the HVAC is on. So, I asked the HVAC folks to come to my home and install a whole house air purifier. I was amazed by how little time it took to do just that. I thought is would be this big machine. But, it was just a small box that was attached to the air handler. Now, my air smells crisp and clean all the time. I should have done this quite a while ago.
