Ductless air conditioning is an ideal, permanently installed option

I live in an area where the weather is typically cold and wet for more than half the year.

A whole-house heating system is absolutely essential.

A central cooling system isn’t really necessary. The summer season usually only lasts for a couple of months. However, we sometimes deal with temperatures in the high eighties and brutal humidity. While I like to open the windows and enjoy some fresh air, the house becomes terribly overheated and sticky feeling. Plus, there’s issues with bugs, pollen, exhaust fumes and exterior noise. For awhile, I attempted to manage summer comfort with electric fans and portable air conditioners in the bedrooms. I really didn’t like the look of the cooling units. I was aggravated by the need to install the units in the spring, remove them in the fall and sacrifice of space to store them. I really wanted a permanently installed cooling system for the bedrooms that wouldn’t cost me a fortune. After some research, I came across ductless split systems. This type of cooling uses a single outdoor compressor linked to multiple indoor air handlers. The system requires little more than tiny holes in exterior walls to accommodate a conduit for drainage. The air handlers are very compact, lightweight and mount up high on the wall. Despite the slim profile, the system provides a sufficient amount of cool air to easily handle the severe weather. It operates quietly, achieves outstanding efficiency levels and can be adjusted through a cordless remote. Because each air handler includes an independent thermostat, temperature in the bedrooms can be customized to personal preference.
