My heating and air conditioning maintenance contract covers quarterly service visits

When I bought my car last year, I did something new for the first time ever—I opted to purchase the dealership warranty.

In every instance of any conceivable large purchase in my life, I had never actually bought an extra warranty beyond whatever came with the purchase free of charge.

This has covered things as wide ranging as computers, cell phones, musical instruments, appliances, and recreational equipment. Right away, I learned exactly why so many opt to purchase extended warranties. Mine in particular covered oil changes, tire rotations, bi-annual engine inspections, and so much more. I had a problem with the car’s on board computer when a check engine light wouldn’t go off and the dealership recalibrated the system for free. The warranty even covers getting a loaner car if I ever have to take mine in for extended repairs for any reason whatsoever. All of these features amounted to a maintenance contract as much as a warranty, so that got my brain thinking. Maybe I could get maintenance contracts for other necessities in my life. Right away, I learned that I could purchase a maintenance contract on handyman repairs around the house, like appliance repair if a microwave or refrigerator breaks down. Better yet, I discovered that I could buy a maintenance contract for my home’s central heating and air conditioning system. I found an affordable service plan that includes filter replacements, quarterly service visits and inspections, and any parts or labor on minor to intermediate repairs. It didn’t take long for me to realize how much money I would save on HVAC service each year by purchasing a maintenance contract. I’m amazed at the sea change in my life brought on by simply getting a vehicle warranty on a whim last year.
