The winter where I just came from is brutal. I was raised in a region of our country that sees far more snow & ice than it does bikini weather. I suppose when you don’t know any different, cold winters are just normal. However, that doesn’t mean I had to like it. In fact, my entire life, I have dreamed of living somewhere the sun shined more than it didn’t. Then, I wanted to have the warm temps so I never had to shovel snow again. Why I agreed to remain up there for my entire adult life still puzzles me at times. Don’t get me wrong, there were plenty of good times. I married a wonderful man and was able to raise my children full time. That doesn’t happen all that much anymore. Still, month after month after month of the HVAC furnace running full tilt just to keep it warm in the house really got to me. Honestly, I thought I would have to deal with the long winters for the rest of my life. But, we came into a nice inheritance which will allow us to retire a few years early. The best part is that we are going South to the sun and blue skies! We found a modest little 2 bedroom home in an area where the main weather complaint is the heat during the summer. I could handle that for sure. The bonus of the situation happens to be that our new home has a sun room attached to the back of the house. After all those years of snow, ice and gray skies, I know revel in my sunroom. It is even HVAC controlled. So, I can enjoy the sun even when it gets hot outside.
