Updating to a ductless multi-split system

Updating to a ductless multi-split system

Nick December 9, 2019

The weather forecast has been a big story for the past week.

  • Everyone’s been talking about the storm.

Now it is finally here. My husband and I thought that they were exaggerating about the amount of snow we’d get. Now that the reality of it has arrived, we see we are unprepared. Thankfully my husband at least found a snow shovel and made sure it was handy by the back door. When I woke up to ten inches inches of fluffy white snow on the ground in the morning, I had to shovel a pathway for the poodle to go out. The snow is deeper than our dog is tall and that would not have worked out so well. I noticed the house felt rather cold so I used the remote to raise the temperature. We invested in a multi-split ductless heat pump system over the summer to improve temperature control in several rooms of the house. The older forced air furnace and air conditioner we have was struggling to handle the entire house. We wanted to have a more efficient method of heating and cooling the house. Now that it is just my husband and I living here, there are numerous rooms that are no longer used all that often. We can shut the doors on the kids’ bedrooms and not pay to maintain them at the perfect temperature all year. When they come for a visit and we need to heat and cool those bedrooms, we simply turn on the air handling units mounted in that particular room of the house. My favorite feature of the ductless multi-split system is the independent remotes for each indoor unit. I can be sitting on the couch or even lying in bed and adjust the temperature without needing to get up.
