I’m not typically a fan of going to funerals, but then again who is? It was an old friend of mine who passed away a little while ago and this was devastating news.
So of course I took my family with me to the funeral, but the service was terribly uncomfortable.
I asked around about the temperature control settings. I actually learned that the HVAC system wasn’t broken, but nobody except for the head guy at the venue was able to adjust the temperature control settings with his smartphone. They had a smart thermostat and it was locked to everybody except for him. They said they called the man a bunch of times but evidently he had some kind of emergency situation with his family and he wasn’t answering his phone to fix the temperature control settings. I thought this was the most ridiculous thing I ever heard to have one guy be in charge of the temperature control settings in a building. My kids were so uncomfortable, they kept asking when the service was going to be over. I’m sure if the A/C was actually working, they might have been able to hold off for a little longer. I promised them I would take them for ice cream afterwards and we would be able to soak in the air conditioning. They were at least happy about that. Even though I care a great deal about my buddy who passed away, I said my peace and had to take my family out of there sooner than later because we were all sweating profusely.
