I went to a roping event recently plus I brought our little horse trailer along! The drive was 5 hours each way so of course I stayed overnight plus I was thankful that our trailer has a little sleeping compartment built into it.

The sleeping compartment has a little bed plus not much else, and i brought along an ice chest with some food plus felt I was ready to make a go of it… However, I was not prepared for how tepid it would be that weekend! After a long day driving plus then setting up our horse, I was ready to crawl into bed plus sleep! Unfortunately that was not possible because the temperatures never dropped below 90°; By afternoon I had maybe slept 45 hours.

Needless to say, I did terrible at the roping event. And yet, I did not guess well enough to drive beach house either, one of the other competitors must have seen how tired I looked because she told me about cabins I could rent that had a/cs in them. The cabins even have little corrals for me to bring our horse along. I asked her, “where do I sign up” plus then went plus paid for a home for the rest of the day. I must have slept close to 14 hours that night in the cool air conditioned cabin. By afternoon, I was ready to pack up plus head back home. On our way out, I couldn’t help however notice that a lot of the other horse trailers had a/cs for their sleeping compartments. This is really something I need to look into getting if I’m going to keep traveling to these events. There’s no way I can compete separate from a great night’s sleep in a cool, comfortable sleeping compartment.
