Despite the fact that our warranty for this particular air conditioning unit became invalid years ago, my husband thought that if he called over to the HVAC company that we had hired and worked out a deal with him then we would be able to get a brand new unit for free.
I love my husband so much, but over the years I think it would be fair to say that he has been getting on my nerves. Before he retired a few years ago my husband was a very successful businessman who spent most of his years negotiating deals in the corporate world. While I am grateful for the time he put in so we can live a relaxed retirement lifestyle, I wish that he would have left the constant need to wheel and deal behind him. Just the other day when our air conditioning unit broke down my husband wasn’t willing to accept the fact that we were going to have to replace the old thing. My husband might have great negotiation skills, but one thing that my husband didn’t consider was the fact that the owner of this particular HVAC company was that this guy was old school. He didn’t want to work out a deal or be sweet talked, and within five minutes he ended up hanging up on my husband. Now we are on the hunt for a different reputable HVAC company to help us. I know my husband only had good intentions, but sometimes I wish that he would just act like a normal customer for once!
