I would like to start off by saying that I have always been a law-abiding citizen and I have never broken the law in my life.
- Last year, however, I was being sued.
Apparently, my dog had bit someone and the person had gotten in touch with a personal injury law firm and had a dog bite lawyer working on a case against me for damages. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. My dog was old, he had never been aggressive in all of his life. I found out later that in his old age he had become very sick and aggressive, but at the time I had no idea! When the personal injury law firm and dog bit attorney started coming after me, I decided to speak with a friend of mine who was also a personal injury attorney. She explained that these cases are very common and will most likely result in a small settlement with my insurance company- especially since the extent of the damages were not significant. Sadly, I ended up having to put my dog down after the whole ordeal with the dog bite attorney and personal injury law firm coming for my insurance company. It was a very unfortunate turn of events and I was extremely saddened to have to put my oldest friend down because of it. My friend, the personal injury lawyer, made me feel better when she explained that the personal injury law firm and dog bite attorney were not coming after me specifically, and that this is the reason I have insurance. It still hurts, though.
