There is no denying that when summer arrives, you need air conditioning if you live in the south. As soon as I see temperatures in the eighties, I begin to dread having summer arrive. I know that the air conditioner is going to be running all the time. I also know what it is going to cost to run that air conditioner. Sometimes I think I would rather live where the winters are so cold that you are stuck inside with nothing but the heat of a furnace. I don’t think my family would go for that. I make sure the air conditioner is running at top efficiency. If I didn’t do this, I wouldn’t be able to afford to run the air conditioning like we do. I have told my family they are also responsible for keeping the air conditioning running at high efficiency. If something were to happen to the air conditioner, we couldn’t afford to get a new one. If the AC isn’t running efficiently, we can’t afford the energy bills. I told my kids that I didn’t want to see an energy bill that was equal to buying a new home. I told my kids that every month our energy bill saves us money, I will put it in the family fun bank. Right now, I think they are saving for a fun trip to Disney. I hear the kids monitoring each other about keeping doors shut and not wasting the AC. They have done an amazing job of keeping the thermostat at seventy-five and I’ve not heard a single complaint from anyone..
