Both of us went with a geothermal heat pump rather than a traditional forced air furnace and A/C system. The geothermal heat pump is amazing because it transfers energy between your home and a system that is installed deep underground. You pay a decent amount of cash to have the geothermal heat pump installed but it is basically free after that. Thank God we invested in our geothermal heat pump at that point. In the past few years we’ve both lost our jobs and the lack of high energy bills has been saving our asses. If you have extra cash I recommend that you invest in a geothermal heat pump while it lasts.
