I wasn’t entirely happy when my wife told me she wanted to be an HVAC technician.
- She was a woman and it didn’t seem like the choice of careers for a woman.
Regardless of how much I argued with her, she still went ahead and signed up for classes. She graduated at the top of her class, which whether I wanted to admit it or not, made me quite proud. I couldn’t believe she was doing so well. Then she went to work for a local HvAC company. There was something about her compassion toward her customers that had her being requested when it came to HVAC repairs or maintenance. Within the first two years, she had gained the reputation of having the best client ratings of any other HVAC technician. That same year, we were invited to the annual holiday party that was thrown by the company. They not only gave out bonuses, but one local HvAC technician was voted HVAC Tech of the Year. You have no surprise how shocked we were when she was called up for the distinguished honor of being HVAC Technician of the Year. That was the first time in a stretch of four consecutive years. She was given a trip to the Bahamas that first year, and we went to Niagara Falls another year. This year, they are giving the tech of the year a trip to Hawaii. We are thrilled to know she was nominated. Now, we can only wait and hope to win the trip to Hawaii. I think we could use a second honeymoon.
