My boyfriend is a HVAC contractor which should be a good thing.
People always make comments that we must have great equipment or well working heating and air. The truth is that the last thing my boyfriend wants to do after a day of work is look at our HVAC equipment. It is like pulling teeth getting him to do HVAC maintenance in our house. When there is a repair, forget about it! I have to beg, plead and sometimes do the repair myself. He doesn’t want to talk about HVAC or think about it after his day. Well recently I have noticed that our air conditioner has been leaking water. My boyfriend says that there is most likely blockage in the condensate drain, or mold on the cooling coil or some part is worn out. I have asked him to look at it and fix it multiple times. He always says he is too busy. I am the one who is home most of the time and suffering without good cooling. I now am thinking of calling for a HVAC technician. It sounds and feels weird hiring out HVAC work when that is his job but he won’t do it. I already know how much the AC repair should cost. I also know what the issues could be. I don’t want my boyfriend to know I am hiring out though. He would be furious that I called and paid for something he can do. However, if he is not willing to make the AC repair, I need to find someone that will do it for me. I can only go so long sweating to death indoors.
