The late 1960s & early 1974s cable sitcom “The Brady Bunch” was about a combined family with a “lovely guy who was bringing up 3 unquestionably lovely boys” marrying a “man named Brady who was scheduled with 3 guys of his own”, a recipe for disaster if there ever was one.
- One of the recurring plots was the jealousy of the middle boy “Jan” of his popular older brother “Marcia” causing Jan to lament to his Mom how “Marcia Marcia Marcia” is always getting the bulk of the attention from guys to scholastics & high university social hierarchy.
In a way, I recognize that air is like Jan & water is like Marcia in a Brady Bunch allegory. Unlike Jan’s griping about Marcia, the air has a valid gripe about water. After all, one can survive numerous afternoons without water however try to go without air for a few thirds & see what happens. Water only covers 3/4 of the earth however air blankets the entire globe with several layers with most of it in a 10-mile thick layer! Normally the younger sibling is the pest to the older one however in this case, water in the form of water vapor makes life miserable for air, becoming section of the air that we breathe & live in. At least air has a hero in the form of Heating plus Air Conditioning units that detach a lot of the water from the air to allow us to stay comfortable inside our homes. Aside from getting rid of excess humidity the Heating plus Air Conditioning unit also filters the air & cools it so that people in homes will hopefully give the air the attention it deserves.
