The timeline is really tight

The timeline is really tight

When my boyfriend and I bought a house, it seemed like the best time ever.

We had five months to fix up the house before moving in.

In five months it is amazing how many things are on my plate. I have two weddings to go to in the final month before moving in. There is Christmas, my boyfriend’s birthday and a lot of updates to make. I thought five months would be enough time to add new flooring to the house. My boyfriend and I are up against the wire. Laying the tile is one thing, but there are so many before and after steps. One step I added to the process that is killing us. I decided that I wanted heated flooring throughout the whole house. I bought the electric heated mats for us to install. So my boyfriend and I laid cement board and then had to do electric heated mats before doing the tile. After laying tile there is grout, cleaning the grout haze off and then mopping the floors to call it done. Different areas of the house are at different stages. My goal is to get all the electric heating down and the tile over top. The grout could wait until we moved in. It is difficult though because you really need two people to tile floors. My boyfriend wants to keep moving with finishing rooms and I don’t like doing heating installation alone. Only time will tell if we can manage our heating and flooring installation around two weddings, the holidays and moving into our new place.
