It’s interesting that my wife and I had considered having a whole house air purifier added to our HVAC system.
We really wanted to get rid of the mess of odors in our home from cooking and pets.
Where we live, the HVAC cooling is on for much of the year. And much of that time it’s combatting a great deal of heat. So, in order to get as much efficiency as possible, we tighten the house up to keep the HVAC treated air inside. It’s not all that tough. Making sure the weather stripping is in good shape and there are no unfilled gaps in the exterior goes a long way toward this end. But, that means the air is getting recycled. And when you cook from home as much as we do, along with pets in the house, the air just smells bad. We wanted a real solution to this problem. But we were sort of not ready to commit to the price of a whole house air purifier. Well now that we are dealing with a pandemic, that equation has shifted. There has never been a more pressing time to have good indoor air quality. Your immune response is counting on it. That made the math a lot more doable. So, we called the HVAC folks and they came out to install the whole house air purifier. It just fits right inside the air handler unit of the HVAC. Not only does the air in our house smell amazing, we now have the best indoor air we can get.
