Having a failing air conditioner in our home is giving me constant anxiety

Nick February 21, 2021

I don’t guess that I’m the only person who has been struggling with anxiety since the start of 2020.

Even before the pandemic, several of us were busy laboring several jobs to try and make ends meet.

I was typically living paycheck to paycheck, despite having no wife, partner, children, or anyone else that I’m responsible for other than myself. Since I never went to school, I have trouble finding jobs that spend money more than $15 an hour. Some experts argue that is the minimal baseline for the wages needed to survive in this country without slipping into further debt. But things got worse when the lockdowns started and I lost 1 of our several jobs. Suddenly I was overcome with anxiety on a quarterly basis. I still had enough currency to survive since I was getting unemployment for the job that I lost, and eventually I signed up for food stamps as well. But the anxiety overcame me and hasn’t let go of me since. I am starting to wonder if our air conditioner is starting to fail on me, because the air leaving our vents feels warmer than usual. I couldn’t afford a current air conditioner right now if I tried. My first order of supplier was calling the heating and cooling company to send out a serviceman to inspect our system. I was relieved when he told me that it simply needed more coolant. This was covered by our heating and cooling repair contract. My serviceman also inspected the rest of our Heating, Ventilation & A/C method and ran pressure tests on the air conditioner. It’s a relief knowing that there aren’t any dire underlying issues with our air conditioner.
