After visiting my friends house for an afternoon of video games, I went home with a lot of questions rolling around in my mind.
When I saw his dad servicing their HVAC system, it dawned on me that I’d never seen my dad service our HVAC system before. His dad was much more rough around the edges, while my dad was more of a suit and tie kind of guy. I asked my dad about it, expecting him to say that he paid someone to service it for him. Instead, he shrugged his shoulders and told me that he never had the HVAC system serviced because it wasn’t necessary. I told him that my friend’s dad was servicing his HVAC system and that he’d told me an HVAC system needed servicing at least twice per year. He always serviced his air conditioner before the summer and his furnace before the winter, because it ensured that he’d have heat and air all season long. My dad looked at me with amazement because I’d never spoken about HVAC systems before. He asked me what else I’d learned while I was watching his dad service their HVAC system and I told him as much as I could. I mentioned how general servicing would make the heat and air run more efficiently, the air quality would be better, and there would keep repair costs low. I think my little speech piqued my dad’s interest, because he hired an HVAC professional to come serviced our HVAC system the following week.
