Car AC

When your car’s AC dies, there is still hope for a comfortable ride.

There are some things you can do to keep cool on hot weather days.

If your car’s AC has thrown in the towel and you’re not in a good position to get it fixed, don’t worry. There are some solutions. The simplest way to get relief is to roll down the windows and let the airflow cool you off. Driving with the windows down increases drag, which drains your gas mileage, but when you’re sweating and have no AC in your car, the fuel economy is probably the least of your concerns. When your AC isn’t working, finding a shady spot is essential, even if it means you will have to walk further. You can also invest in a windshield sunshade to block the sun’s rays. Keeping your windows cracked while it’s parked will prevent heat from building up as quickly, meaning you will sweat less when you hit the road again. It doesn’t matter how much air comes through your windows if your back is baking against a hot car seat. One solution to cool you off is a cooling seat cover. The seat cover plus into your car’s 12 volt system, and an intake fan at the bottom pushes air through 24 outlets positioned along the cushion to keep your body cooler, even if your car’s AC is shot. Bringing along a cold drink will also tone down the heat and keep you hydrated and comfortable during a hot drive. Using a cooling towel also works wonders. All you have to do is pour cold water over the towel and drape it across your neck and boom! You’re now cooled down. Portable air conditioners also exist that run on your car’s 12 volt power system or on rechargeable batteries. These little machines can move a surprising amount of air through your vehicle to keep you cool during those super hot summer days.
