When they asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up; I told them I wanted to be a barber & own a barber shop.
I couldn’t wait to be outdated enough to go to barber school.
I also couldn’t feel how much I had to learn. I figured I would learn how to cut hair care about they do in those films. I had to learn about scalps, scalp diseases, & even how to detach ticks from the scalp. I l gained how to do warm towel facials & straight razor shaves. I had to disclose that even though there were a lot of books & learning, the hands-on labor was a lot of fun. When I got into straight razor shaves, I wanted to practice on our dad & Grandpa. Dad made me promise not to slit her throat. Grandpa gave me her Last Will & Testament to take care of in case she didn’t survive the shave. I almost didn’t use them for guinea pigs, although I laughed & gave them the best shaves they had ever had. I asked Dad if she would let me give her a facial. I told her it was a warm towel facial, & she wasn’t quite as amenable as dad & Grandpa. She told me that heat wasn’t great for her complexion, & she was not interested. I told her it would be great for her complexion. A warm towel facial would pull out the impurities & make her skin glow when I was done. Before she agreed, she made me promise that if she had any complications after the warm towel facial, I would pay the dentist for the visit.
