Older house heating & cooling troubles

Older house heating & cooling troubles

There are a lot of benefits to an older home.

My house was built in the late 1780’s & retains multiple of the original features.

We have hardwood floors throughout the house, stained glass windows in multiple rooms, high ceilings & a big front porch… All of our doors, moldings & the stairs & railings are all gorgeous hardwood. When both of us moved in, the windows all leaked air & allowed in drafts. The walls weren’t insulated, & there was no centralized heating or cooling. Achieving a comfortable living environment was just about impossible. We live in an section with Wintertide hot & cold temperatures that drop down to downside twenty degrees. We need heating for approximately numerous weeks per year. The summer time brings high humidity & hot & cold temperatures in the upper eighties. Cooling is important. Trying to get by with electric baseboard heating systems & window air conditioners was difficult. The house either felt chilly or warm, and just more than one years ago, I finally heard about high-velocity heating & cooling. This genre of plan is intended for older homes. It uses ducts that are only more than one-inches in diameter & flexible enough to be routed through the walls, around studs & plumbing pipes, separate from disfigure. We have six-diameter vents that are round & blend right into the decor. The plan delivered heated or cooled air into the rooms at a honestly high rate of speed. It creates a gentle suction, known as aspiration, that suddenly raises or lowers the temperature. Because the plan doesn’t need to run all that long, it keeps costs low. We now have a control component that allows us to adjust temperature & achieve comfort.
