I’m going to need a backup heating plan this Winter because running our central heating component just to heat one room in our flat is costing me a lot of money.
I wish I had zoned heating in our locale because I spend a lot of time in just one room but am spending a lot heating the other empty rooms for no reason.
I tried to close the vents in the other rooms I don’t use, but the heat still gets through the closed vent, so it doesn’t legitimately help much keeping them closed at all. I want to buy a small portable radiant furnace so I can turn off the central heating component during the day when I am working in that office. I think the portable heating systems are pretty efficient so it should reflect in our power bill the following month. I may get a roommate to help absorb some of the rising costs associated with renting a flat. They just raised our rent this month plus last year the power bill rates went up severely. My landlord put in a new temperature control plan in our flat last year plus it runs great but it isn’t zone controlled so a lot of the energy is wasted in unused rooms. I will absolutely start teaching more beach volleyball to make a little side money as a lot of things went up in cost, including food plus transportation expenses. I need to buy a HEPA filter for the main component because it just has a cheap throwaway one in there now.
