There is always that 1 room in every fantastic sized, older house that just is uncomfortable. Either the Heating and Air Conditioning ductwork layout is old or there’s an insulation issue perhaps. But there is always a space where the rest of the family sort of just passes by or it becomes a junky storage area. The two of us have the latter. The room I just spent the last more than one years working inside and is now our permanent office was just a storage locker. And that’s because this room is exposed on multiple sides and gets direct sunlight heating all day. If the control unit is set at 78 while I was in the day, that space was more like 88. The two of us simply kept the door shut. Well when I got sent house from the zone controlled Heating and Air Conditioning of the office at the start of the pandemic, I had nowhere else to have privacy. So I cleaned it out, wore shorts and a tee shirt and set a couple of fans in there as well. It wasn’t exactly pleasant however it sure was better than fighting over the dining room table like the rest of the family. I just have to have some modicum of quiet and privacy to focus. That’s 1 thing that I immediately didn’t miss about the way things were inside that zone controlled Heating and Air Conditioning of the office. Talk about interruptions and distractions! I had to literally turn our back on our colleagues and put in headphones sometimes. Well, I just had the Heating and Air Conditioning corporation add a ductless heat pump to what is now our permanent house office.
