Last week, I made an appointment to have some minor repairs done on our a/c unit, I set up the appointment early in the morning so I wouldn’t need to take off work.
I started late in the afternoon, and as long as the Heating and A/C specialist was at the apartment by 8AM as he was scheduled, I would be at work by noon! When the Heating and A/C specialist finally arrived, it was already 9o’clock, but I was still fairly certain I could get to work on time.
It seemed to take forever to get the A/C repaired, and I saw the clock slowly ticking by the minutes and the hour. I wanted to go outside and shout at the Heating and A/C tech. I wanted to ask if he thought he could work a little faster? I was afraid I would aggravate him and he would work even slower. If I wanted to be at work on time, I was going to need to find a way to set a fire under the Heating and A/C tech and have him finish his work in the next ten minutes. It was almost 11AM when he came inside and started talking to me about all the work he needed to do. He showed me all the repairs and explained the bill. I had the urge to egg him on, in gestures if not words, so I could get out of the house. By the time the Heating and A/C tech was done, but he was thorough and did his task well, I was already going to be late for work. I called my boss and asked if I could take the rest of the day off.
