I remember when I was younger, gardening used to be a large interest of mine.
- I would spend so many hours just breaking away all of the weeds, putting fertilizer in the ground and planting seeds.
I would visit the gardening center almost every week to see their new plants and seeds. My favorite to plant was fruits, because there is nothing more rewarding than enjoying a plant grow and produce fruit, and taste the sweetness of it knowing you grew that all by yourself. My hour favorite was flowers. I consistently enjoyed the bright vivid colors of flowers, and the sweet smell, and I had many flowers of all odd kinds growing, but roses, tulips, peonies and even sunflowers; However, looking back, I am not sure how I used to tolerate it. Because gardening takes a lot of work and hours of effort. Not only that, but the biggest issue was the heat. I live in the south, and it can definitely get over 100 degrees here. I used to somehow tolerate the heat and keep gardening anyway. I don’t think how I never got heat exhaustion or anything. I must have been pretty tough when I was young. Now that I am older, I savor a small indoor garden. I can still savor some plants, but with the attractive a/c. Speaking of the A/C system, I have easily grown fond of it as I have grown older! Perhaps this is because I am more sensitive to temperature. But regardless of the reason, I savor having a cooling device around. I can now work without the worry of heated hot and cold temperatures, and plant in the cool air conditioner.
