I kind of hate to admit it, although I am a bit picky over the control unit.
It doesn’t matter who it is, I genuinely don’t like the temperature being adjusted without our knowing.
I believe I got this from our dad, who was also overprotective over the control unit. Except he would take it to extremes. I would occasionally wake up at evening to find him in the hallway, next to the control unit smoking and eyeing anyone who passed by. I ended up taking after him in this regard, and this had caused some troubles with our family members. Once when our sibling stayed over, she was chilly one evening and turned up the control unit. I woke up from a deep sleep because I could just assume the temperature change, that’s how much it bothered me. Since she was staying in our house, she would have to adjust to our number one rapidly decreasing temperatures. When I met our current fiance, I was somewhat anxious about her reaction to our protectiveness over the heating and a/c control unit. Thankfully for me, she couldn’t care less about whatever the temperature was. So I was able to rest assured that the control unit was not going to be messed with. I genuinely became protective over the control unit when I updated to a smart control unit. I was able to lock the heating and cooling system control unit, and so I was the only one who was able to access it. Whenever our fiance and I have kids, this feature comes in handy to prevent prying hands from decreasing the temperature.
