I kind of hate to disclose it, but I am a bit picky over the thermostat.
It doesn’t matter who it is, I really don’t love the temperature being adjusted without our knowing.
I suppose I got this from our Mom, who was also overprotective over the thermostat. Except he would take it to extremes. I would occasionally wake up at night to find him in the hallway, next to the thermostat smoking plus eyeing anyone who passed by. I ended up taking after him in this regard, plus this had caused some troubles with our family members. Once when our sibling stayed over, he was freezing one night plus turned up the thermostat. I woke up from a deep sleep because I could just suppose the temperature change, that’s how much it bothered me. Since he was staying in our house, he would have to adjust to our preferred temperatures. When I met our current husband, I was somewhat distraught about his reaction to our protectiveness over the HVAC system thermostat. Thankfully for me, he couldn’t care less about whatever the temperature was. So I was able to rest assured that the thermostat was not going to be messed with. I really became protective over the thermostat when I replaced to a smart thermostat. I was able to lock the HVAC system thermostat, plus so I was the only one who was able to access it. Whenever our husband plus I have kids, this feature comes in handy to prevent prying hands from changing the temperature.
