As I looked out at the sun bearing down on us, I was so glad that I was in the safety of an air conditioned car.
Especially after getting stuck in rush hour traffic. It was 5:30 and everyone was in a rush to get home, and because of that, we were all stuck in an endless field of cars. Moving at the fast pace of 5 miles per hour, it was hard not to be frustrated. However, I couldn’t help but to feel thankful, because being stuck in traffic allowed me to observe those around me. In the car next to us, the guy had his window rolled down and was sweating really bad. Then a car behind us was a convertible and the poor guy didn’t get to enjoy the air conditioning privilege that I got. To my left, I saw two ladies clearly trying to exercise, but they were also sweating and looked exhausted. All of these poor people were stuck in the unrelenting heat, and here I was in my nice cool car. Thank you HVAC system. I looked at the weather, and it was 90 degrees outside. Even more reason why I am so glad to have a functioning cooling device. Soon after my observations, traffic started to clear up and I was able to drive back to my house, where my central A/C waited for me. I hope all of those other people finally got into a cool place of their own, but seeing all of those poor people suffering made me thankful for what I have.
