A very stressful HVAC assignment

A very stressful HVAC assignment

Working as an HVAC tech is a pretty normal kind of job. Nothing exciting ever happens at work, you know what I mean? I drive around in the van, I make repairs and perform inspections, and then I go home at the end of the day. For the first time ever, after 10 years at the same place, it finally happened – something exciting happened at work! It made me realize how much I liked the quiet normalcy of my work. Excitement is for the weekends, when I am on the job I just want a low stress, low pressure environment. I was called to work on the HVAC system of a local sorority house, located right near the college campus. As I started to work my way through the air ducts and vents, I found something sinister. Someone had installed a series of hidden cameras in the ductwork, peeking out through the air vents. These cameras were only the size of an AA battery, and nearly impossible to spot from outside, but they were hidden in almost every air vent. The police were notified, and then I spent the next four hours going through the rest of the ductwork inch by inch looking for more cameras. This time there was a detective standing next to me, and every time I found a camera in an air vent they would put it in an evidence bag. My humble job as an HVAC repair tech has never been more exciting, nor has it ever been so stressful! I’d like to go back to having a normal day.
