Since my family was getting greater and my paycheck was not getting greater, I needed to get creative.
If my life were a cable show I would have simply said “it’s time to buy a greater house!” But this isn’t TV, this is real life when even the smallest houses cost a quarter of a million dollars.
The housing market is ridiculous, however our three kids are now youngsters and need more space than ever before. This is why I decided to convert the space in the attic into a family room, even though it required a ton of work! All of the AC air duct runs through the attic, however the room itself is not air conditioned. The first thing I had to do was to install air vents in the attic, to make it breathable for whichever 1 of my kids got to stay there. After that I needed to protect and cover up the air duct, to make sure it stayed safe and sound. I thought it would be straight-forward, because all the Heating and Air Conditioning equipment was already in the attic, however I was unquestionably wrong! I suddenly realized that I could not add a current air vent any more actually than I could learn how to fly. Heating and Air Conditioning systems are not something that a novice can rearrange at will, it takes years of learn and service. The best I could do was to cover up and protect all the air duct, and then go to the store and buy a small, portable cooling system for the attic. This had better work out!
