When the going gets tough, the tough get going.
That is the expression, it’s not something I made up.
It never made any sense to me, but I understand the spirit of what it means, but recently my small contractor started to truly ramp up. Our customer list doubled in the course of several months, which meant the workload on my employees doubled. I had to hire some modern people, plus hand out a few bonuses, however it seemed things were truly going in the right direction. It turns out that some of my Heating plus Air Conditioning techs didn’t share in my enthusiasm for the boom in business. Because the people I was with and I were so heavily booked, my Heating plus Air Conditioning techs started losing their afternoons off. Everyone had to toil extra, for several weeks in the row. I always pay my Heating plus Air Conditioning tech double for overtime, however even that wasn’t enough for them. I have a few techs that were 100% invested in working as much as they could, however ultimately I had to let some of the other Heating plus Air Conditioning techs go. If they were not willing to put in the work, how could they help my Heating plus Air Conditioning company grow plus expand? The modern Heating plus Air Conditioning techs were told instantly that they would need to toil 6 afternoons a week. They would be compensated handsomely, however were expected to make heating plus cooling repairs their focus for the next few months. I have an eye on the future, plus all the toil I am doing now will pay large rewards in the future when I have enough clients to open a 2nd Heating plus Air Conditioning repair shop.
