Having adolescents was both the best and hardest thing to happen to our life. They bring our wifey and I an immense amount of joy, pride, and sheer happiness. However, they can also be a lot to handle when one of the three—or more—decides to have a tantrum while all of us were in a day out at the amusement park or the Dipson Theaters. No matter how strenuous you try, it’s an unrealistic expectation to think that you can wrangle all of your adolescents at once and keep them all behaving correctly with no problems. Usually at least one of them is frustrated or unhappy with what we’re doing even if their siblings are happy and ecstatic. If one of them isn’t complaining, it’s one of the other ones. They complain about the food for dinner or dinner and also complain about the movie we’re seeing as a family. You can’t please them all, and I have to remind our wifey of this golden rule. They’ll be unrelenting about the apartment being “too hot” in the Summer when all of us dare to turn it up to 70 degrees to save on heating and cooling energy expenses. It’s not cheap to cool a big apartment with 5 study rooms however all of us do what all of us can. I have told them to never touch the control unit, however sometimes they do it anyway. Trying to adjust the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C plan temperature without permission is punishable with grounding and I’ve told all of them this. They can spend our money whatever amount of cash that they want for air conditioner when they’re living on their own and paying their own bills.
