My youngsters are in a lot of trouble.
They were rough housing around in the hallway the other afternoon, and they ended up smashing the smart thermostat! The smart thermostat screen was cracked right down the middle and dropped off the wall. As a result, I had to go out and purchase another one that same evening because, of course, the HVAC system stopped working. When the thermostat is on the fritz, you have no climate control whatsoever. My youngsters are grounded for a week and not allowed to even think about their video games. After school they march right to their rooms and read a book or something. That will teach them to wrestle around delicate electronics! Thankfully, the new smart temperature control did not cost that much and it was simple to install. Still, a lesson needed to be learned here. If they were behaving as they should, the smart thermostat would not have broken in the first place! They need to learn to listen to me and their mother and obey the house rules! Needless to say, the air conditioning system is working just fine once again. We only had to deal without it for a few hours while I went to the store to buy the new one. It’s my sincere hope that nothing like this ever happens again. Smart thermostats may be reasonably affordable these days, but, if it keeps happening every other week, all that money spent will surely rack up.
