My two boys have a tendency to play rather rough.
One is into his teenage years and the other one is following closely behind, so it’s only natural with their hormones raging that they are constantly getting into play fights.
Unfortunately, this latest play fight cost the family something rather important. My two sons were wrestling in the hallway and they broke the smart thermostat hanging on the wall nearly in half! It was definitely not repairable. My husband scolded them harshly and told them that they would be doing quite a lot of housework to make up for the cost of buying a brand new smart thermostat. The truth is, the replacement would not be all that expensive, but that’s besides the point. My two boys needed to learn to take responsibility for their actions and feel the sting of punishment so that they won’t be tempted to do a similar thing again. In addition to doing many household chores this weekend, during this next school week, they will not be allowed to touch their video games or any form of social media. It’s about time the two of them read books or actually finished their homework anyway! My husband will be going out to buy a smart thermostat this very evening. There’s simply no way that we are going to live without air conditioning for even a single night! Yes, there was no way that we were going to be able to use our air conditioning system unless we replaced that smart thermostat ASAP.
