Repurposing old HVAC equipment

Repurposing old HVAC equipment

Nick October 6, 2022

My favorite time of year is Halloween.

I love the spooky season, and always decorate my entire house, inside and out.

I do the same thing for Christmas as well, but I always have more fun with the Halloween decorations. This year I want to take things up a notch, because I want to outdo myself. Last year was definitely the best year ever, and my house was transformed into a Halloween Haunt, but this year I think I can raise the bar again. My new friend Gary is a certified HVAC tech, and a bit of a lunatic who likes to custom-build his own machines in his garage. I call Gary the Mad Scientist, because he takes the standard, functional HVAC components and transforms them into crazy creations that serve no purpose except on Halloween. For example, Gary took an old oscillating fan and a humidifier, and used the parts to make an amazing fog machine. It slowly blows out colored fog, which clings to the ground around the machine. He even installed red lights inside the housing of the humidifier, to make the thing look macabre and sinister. With Gary’s help I am going to repurpose some old HVAC equipment and turn my entire front yard into a gruesome Halloween wonderland! As a professional HVAC tech Gary works during the day, but at night he has volunteered to help me set everything up. I never knew that heating and cooling equipment could be so versatile, because we have been repurposing into all kinds of wonderful and creepy things.
