The tree was in the front yard of my house for thirty years.
It was tall and strong and living a full life. The limbs were strong with green leaves. I never suspected that the tree was rotting from the inside out. I didn’t know where to go or who to turn to when the accident occurred. Thankfully, I contacted a really nice roofing company that handled all of the work and the insurance claim. The roofing contractor came out to the house and we filled out paperwork. I heard from the insurance company next. They approved all of the damages and then the roofing company completed the work. I never had to give any one money at all. Even my deductible came out of the amount of money for the roofing job and the contractor considered that when he gave me the estimate. I wish it would have been that easy when there was damage to the roof of my commercial building. They wanted to get paid up front. Even though I have business insurance and property insurance, the commercial roofing company wanted half of the fees for the job up front. I contacted several other companies to see if there was anyone else that would do the work up front and wait to get paid from the insurance company, but none of the commercial roofing suppliers wanted to wait for payment on such an expensive job.
