Taking the job was not actually the most charming prospect for me.
But it was a pretty serious life change that I felt I needed to embrace.
The whole thought of leaving for the southern regions just wasn’t all that charming. I was born and raised up north so the very idea of a bunch of air conditioning all warm season wasn’t awesome. I was moving a long way away as well! Essentially, I was trading a gas furnace for a heat pump. Actually, I was sort of flipping my temperatures upside down. My whole life, the only HVAC complication that mattered was HVAC Heating. So when I took this job, I knew that this would be the opposite of what I could do except with HVAC cooling. After some thoughtful consideration about everything, I felt this was a challenge I could not ignore… The new office was pretty sweet as it was almost brand new and entirely well taken care of. I could tell that the HVAC equipment was entirely awesome and that was impressive because the commercial HVAC in the seasoned office wasn’t. I even had a temperature control that controlled my office. Residential HVAC was all about the heat pump. This is the go to residential HVAC equipment down here, however, it’s not just the heat you need to be concerned about. The humidity level just magnifies the way the heat feels. We’re pretty lucky that the heat pump is also balancing the humidity level inside our properties. I learned that the pressing way when I left for a trip and turned the air conditioning equipment off. I came back to my place and a lot of mold and mildew I had to scrub up.
