The air conditioning system in his house has not been working correctly for the past two summers, and our dad has basically suffered through it.
Back in the summer, my sister and I surprised our dad with a new A/C unit for his house. He had been needing one for a while, and so we decided that the best thing for us to do was just get him one for his birthday which was in July. If he had known that we were thinking about getting him a new central air conditioning system, I don’t think that he ever would have gone for it. Our dad is one of those guys who does not like to have a fuss made over him.If he had known that we were thinking of spending so much money on a new air conditioning system, I don’t think he would have let us do it! However, we were very sneaky about the whole thing and we decided that we were going to get him a new air conditioning system because he really needed one. He is a pretty cheap kind of guy, and so he just puts off getting things fixed if he knows that they are going to cost a lot of money. However, I know that he has been pretty miserable in his house during the past two summers because it has been so hot there. Every time I go over there, I can’t believe that he lives that way! He did not even get a window unit air conditioner for his bedroom during the summer this past year. You should have seen his face whenever he realized that we purchased a new air conditioning system for him!
