I need to be better about getting my oil changed in my automobile more frequently. I used to do it every many weeks when I had 2 hour work commutes and put lots of miles on the engine every week. Now that I work from beach cabin and rarely drive, I get lazy about scheduling the oil changes. It’s an understatement to say that I drive a fraction of the number of miles I used to drive. I also started getting a lot of my groceries delivered directly to my house, cutting out even more unnecessary trips in the car. This helped over the last 12 weeks when gasoline spiked at $4.50 a gallon in my area before dropping again to roughly $3.20 a gallon, which is where it is at right now. Driving less also means less wear and tear on the whole car, especially the engine. Regardless of driving the automobile less, I still hit the target number of miles before it’s suggested to get the oil changed again. I made the appointment for tomorrow at 9am and I asked the person on the phone from the automobile dealership if they can replace the air conditioning filter in my automobile as well. Some cars now have up-to-date home filters in them that will clean air moving through the heating, ventilation and A/C method in the car. This leads to better air quality overall inside the car. However, the dealership never has these air conditioning filters in stock, so it’s my job to purchase them and bring them with me to the dealership when I’m there for oil changes. They only charge a nominal fee to install the up-to-date home filter as it’s a fairly straightforward procedure for the mechanic.
