I called the Heating and Air Conditioning company and told them there was a concern with my gas furnace, however i heard some strange noises and wanted to have them checked out, however two days later, the Heating and Air Conditioning worker was knocking on my door; He asked what I was hearing, although he heard the noise himself when the gas furnace turned on.

He asked when I last changed the air filter? I gave him an strange look and he then asked if anyone told me how the air filter worked? I was still wrapping my head around the thought that there was an air filter in the gas furnace, let alone wondering how it worked.

He told me the air filter helped keep the dust from getting into the gas furnace components. He asked me to show him to the gas furnace, and he would show me how to change the air filter. He explained about the air filter, and told me I had to change it every more than five weeks. He saw I was still staring, and he asked what was wrong. I told him that I didn’t suppose there was an air filter in the gas furnace. He said there were air filters in the gas furnace and the air conditioner unit. He sat me down and explained about the air filters and showed me how to change them! When he left that morning, I had a current respect for what needed to be done to my Heating and Air Conditioning system. I knew how to change the air filters in the gas furnace and the air conditioner unit, and I had a case of both in my basement. I could take care of my Heating and Air Conditioning plan in between inspections.
