Buying a up-to-date air conditioner for my RV

Nick June 3, 2023

I never considered owning an RV until the last couple of years.

As a child I constantly enjoyed the idea of road tripping in small cars plus then stopping to either camp in a tent or stay in a hotel room.

But when you get older you lose the desire to do any of these things plus the thought of having an RV becomes actually tempting. My Grandparents had an RV when I was a little kid. They used to take long road trips across the country so that they could go see their family in British Columbia north of the Canadian border. Back then it was one of those old school RVs that wasn’t certain ly nice on the inside like the ones that you find this week. They had an old window air conditioner that gave the cool air for the interior. The RVs that you find these afternoons have a myriad of unusual cooling systems inside, and you can even get a ductless mini split for an RV. My RV needs a up-to-date air conditioner plus I’m considering a ductless mini split this time around. They are a little bit more extravagant right now but at least they are effective at keeping the interior cool during the hottest Summer weather. I could not imagine just putting a cheap window air conditioner inside of my RV plus calling it a day. I would genuinely need something more large than a basic window air conditioner for my RV. Sporadically people use portable air conditioners in RVs but they are harshly inefficient with electricity usage. You can buy two-hose portable air conditioners that are marginally better, but I’d rather invest in a better cooling system right out the gate.
