Everything has been going up in price nowadays.
It’s not just potatoes and eggs either. Almost every item that I need to buy on a regular basis down to things like deodorant and hair conditioner are all going up in price. I remember when it started about a year into the pandemic. It’s because so many companies were struggling to keep supply lines at the same capacity with workers having to take off work to quarantine once they caught covid. This really hasn’t changed that much in the year since. But now there are all sorts of other factors affecting the prices on everything. It costs me more just to buy oil for my car even. So when I saw that the filters for my air purifiers shot up in price by about 30%, I wasn’t nearly as surprised as I normally would have been. My air purifiers are essential for my respiratory and sinus health. I have asthma and all sorts of other allergies. My air purifiers are not a choice and I am fairly miserable when I don’t have them running in my house. That’s why I’m willing to pay the higher price even though it feels like a rip off. On top of the price increase, the charcoal filter inside of the air purifier filter is not even the same quality as it used to be. They raise the price on the filter as well as lowering the quality at the same time. It’s the worst possible combination of choices that they could have made. At least my air conditioner filters are still the same quality as before. They might cost a little bit more per filter, but I don’t have to worry about the air conditioner filter shutting inside of my air conditioners.
