My grandma needed to install a new A/C system in her old house before we could put it up for sale.
She really wanted to move over to this assisted living place with some of her friends but she wanted to sell the house first.
My cousin and I told our grandma that we would help her with getting her household, but we never dreamed that it would be as much of a pain as it actually ended up being. We were working with a Realtor, and the Realtor told us that there was no way that the house would sell for the price that she wanted to list it at if we did not put a new air conditioning system in the house first. Around here where we live, the weather gets really hot in the summers and central air conditioning is super important. I guess she had a point about the air conditioning system when she told us that we needed to install a new one, but my cousin and I are not exactly the kind of people who know how to fix things around the house. Of course, we ended up having to find an HVAC company to come and do all of the work for us, and it seemed like it was one thing after another with the project. Things kept going wrong all the time and they ended up ordering their wrong size air conditioning system for the house. And then we found out that we needed to replace part of the ductwork too. The whole thing took longer than it should have and we got very frustrated with the project before we were finished with it!
