We had the most eventful summer with our younger siblings.

We felt exasperated sitting in their dining room. The windows were open, allowing hot, humid air from outside to come in despite the central air unit was on full blast. It was a weird combination that gave us the creeps. Our younger siblings always saw things differently. While they were carefree, we were responsible. They were more daring than we were. As adults, our differences were still apparent, especially in areas like central air. We tried to convince them that running the central air unit with the windows open wasn’t right. It was like trying to cool a room with the door open. Our younger siblings shrugged and said it helped them. They liked the fresh air, despite the fact that it made the central air unit work harder. We couldn’t help but wonder if this was just how they were. Even if it was unconventional, they did things their way. Our younger siblings ran their own election with themselves as the only candidates back in private school. We were used to following the rules overall in life. They, however, appeared to abide by their own set of rules. It was simultaneously energizing and aggravating. After some time, we were no longer able to handle it. We wanted to make sure that the air quality of the beach house was still good. So, we got up and checked the air filter. It was pretty dirty and we thought about our childhood and all the times they did things their way as we cleaned the air filter. We still want to make sure things are clean in this beach house. Our younger siblings appeared to have been this way forever, so they will always be this way. We are family. We have differences, and we have to be ok with that.
