Summer was approaching abruptly plus I was anxious about my associate and I would not be ready to handle the heat.
There is nothing worse than lying awake at evening dripping with sweat plus I knew my associate and I needed to make preparations to avoid that.
We live in a seasoned farmhouse so my associate and I don’t have central air. We rely on window units in the dining rooms to keep them cool plus comfortable. I kept bugging my hubby to install them plus finally one morning he agreed to take care of it. He wasn’t happy about it because he had a tied up schedule plus I feel he failed to level them. We were kneeling in the living room one evening watching cable when my associate and I observed a sizable wet spot on the ceiling. There isn’t any plumbing on that wall so my associate and I headed upstairs to investigate. As soon as my associate and I entered the dining room above the living room my associate and I knew what was wrong. The window unit was draining water down the wall instead of outside where it should be. It was tilted in instead of out plus the collection pan underneath it had filled plus was spilling over. The drywall beneath it was ruined plus the water had seeped through the floor plus onto the ceiling below. Now my associate and I had a mess to maintain in two rooms that could have been avoided if my hubby hadn’t been in such a hurry to put them in. I have to confess that my nagging him to do it entirely didn’t help the situation either. Next year my associate and I will both have to show more patience when preparing for summer.
