On a Sunday in the winter months, my boyfriend’s dad had us all over for dinner at his new house. Along with a large pool and an outdoor bar, we decided this would be the new place to hang out when they would allow it. His dad has a dog, a boat, and a trampoline. These things are a recipe for a good time, in my book. On this Sunday, we decided that we wanted to eat wings and burgers on the grill. The outside area is set up nicely. There is even a television you can see from in the pool. The night was very cold, so his dad set up a large outdoor electric heater for us. The electric heater provided just the right amount of heat so that we would be comfortable eating our dinner outside. All of a sudden, the dog jumped in the pool! The water splashed on the heater causing it to turn off. There is a safety feature that allows the heater to turn off in the event of rain or anything else that could potentially harm those using the heater. I was shocked that the dog wanted to go swimming in such cold weather, but they told us that it was not uncommon for him to do that. He gets very hot running around the yard and sometimes he needs to cool off in the pool. The heater worked very well for us, for most of the night!
